There are two types and the one that you open online automatically is the Elite Account, which is free for a three month trial period. After the three months is up, you have the option to continue the account, but will have to pay a relatively small monthly charge for the privilege. If you want to have a free account, i.e. with no monthly charge (you only pay a fee when you purchase from a supplier through Drop Shipping) then you can switch to the simple Retail Account. However, you will pay more for the goods you subsequently order as Elite Account holders, as the name suggests, get special deals from Drop Shippers.

What you need to do is research the market price of the goods on offer and compare it to the prices quoted in the Drop Shipping catalog. You need to remember that the prices in the Drop Shipping catalog are in South African rand, so find out the current exchange rate before you visit the site.

You have to have sufficient funds in whichever account you have in order for your goods to be delivered to you or your customers. The amount will remain frozen until you are happy that the goods have been received as per your order.

You can switch from one account to another whenever you wish to and should not feel constrained. For example, if you are not going to use Drop Shipping’s services for a month or two, then the Starter account can be activated, so that you don’t pay a monthly fee. When you wish to place an order, you can go back to your Elite account status in order to take advantage of the lower price rates. Nothing could be simpler.
